I try to stay “half full.” I look on the “bright side” most of the time. But, every now and then, I feel a little low and need a boost.
Sometimes we wait for people to do things - offer to help, lend a word of support, etc. However, if help does not arrive, we can feel alone, adrift, and disliked. This is foolish.
Remember YOU are responsible for your own happiness. You posses the power to reach out, seek help, establish positive relationships, and help others without expecting anything in return. Doing this can seem scary, but the more you extend a hello or a genuine smile, the more you find you get one back. YOU GET WHAT YOU GIVE.
I needed a reminder of this simple philosophy and came across this cool list on tinybuddha.com:
1. Remember that you are powerful.
2. Choose to embrace life.
3. Realize that you get to control your reactions.
4. Know that no one is better qualified.
5. Believe that you are more than enough.
6. Love yourself.
7. Stay cool.
8. Journey well.
